A lot of sci Fi fans also get on well with Terry Pratchett. The audio books are really good, although I prefer Stephen Briggs who did the 2nd half to Nigel Planer. You can't go wrong with Going Postal, it doesn't rely on much from the earlier books, or Men at Arms if you wanted an earlier book in the discworld series.

If you wanted to stick to sci-fi, The Stars my Destination is one of my favorites, it's a modern count of Monte Cristo. Speaker for the dead is also one of my favorites, the sequel to enders game.

Haven't watch the video yet, but I remember how impressed my step dad was with the blue LED when we got our PlayStation 2. I was like, yeah great whatever let's play games, at the time.

So you trained your cat to murder you boyfriend as an example to the next?

Pratchett has hermit elephant's in one of his books (I think reaper man). It's not uncommon to wake up and discover you're surrounded by a small wandering village.

The absolute cesspool of r/feminism is really damaging to women's rights.

I fully welcome Orville into the Star Trek fandom. It's clear that Seth wanted to make an awesome star Trek show and sold it as a comedy to get airing in my mind. I think he did a fantastic job, for sure the best new trek I've seen, although I haven't tried brave new worlds yet.

How do you separate your anger at the world from your regular everyday anger at morons? It's a real struggle.

The first one was pretty great, I couldn't get through the second though and actually heard good things about the third. The second put me off even trying the third.
