It's something I can probably get used to, but I think the things you've lined out would make a lot smoother for me to use. I do get some occasional accidental swipes too, so maybe increasing the distance or the threshold for what counts as a "swipe" might reel a bit better. Like I said, I do love the app so far and intend to keep using it! Keep up the good work!

I think they could put it in the Lemmy source code that an instance won't display or take comments/posts from anyone with those usernames. So even if someone removed that restriction from their own instance, they wouldn't be able to post on any other instance that has that feature enabled
The setting you linked shows the sorting for posts, but not for comments, correct? I was specifically talking about comments

The domain doesn't have anything to do with what is hosted behind it, generally speaking. Any normal website could use .world or .social if they wanted to but they're uncommon
Swipe the comment right to upvote and swipe even further to downvote
