I have aphantasia as well, and it certainly makes calculations a bit harder. I'll often use the analysis tool on chess.com to check my work

Sounds like a blast, even tho I prefer chess.com
I'm in!
I remember when I first got on reddit, it was still bigger than lemmy is now, but it still felt small enough that commenting actually felt worthwhile. Definitely excited to be here. Tryna engage as much as possible so people feel there's a community to join
Like others said, this is excellent. I also always just used reddit to stay informed, and it wasn't always the best at doing that. I really like this cut the bullshit approach
I like to listen to books like these to fall asleep and just started The Thief Lord. I fell asleep before the end of the first chapter, but so far I'm enjoying it as much as I did as a kid
I hope so, I really enjoyed the first one, so sitting through 2h20m of setup just to not get an ending was a bit of a slap in the face. Especially since it was really just starting to get going
Where I live we never had school buses, so I was always dropped off at school and would walk home. I used to think it was odd to have a school bus pick kids up, though that was before I realized how fucked car centricity is
I know this is going against the grain here, but I felt it was way too bloated and referential. The cliffhanger was just insult to injury.
That said, the parts that were good, were fantastic, I just wish they weren't buried in quippy nonsense
Yup, I totally agree. I was really disappointed to see spiderverse follow suit with it
