Some challenging bright light on a good subject. Our first photography session of the tour centered on a small flock of Yellow-tufted Woodpeckers. He was backlit but this male was fairly cooperative in c/[email protected]

@[email protected] lovely photo. Lots of photos of woodpeckers, amazing, we don't have anything similar in Australia. Someone put up a photo of a tree trunk full of holes stuffed with acorns. I had previously thought that was a children's story.

@[email protected] really interesting thread, thank you. It's surprising how much effect the black sky has, there isn't a lot of sky in the image but it looms over everything
