Mom, is that you? You're always so sweet!

Thank you! After the live model session I realized just how bad my skills are painting from real life. I mean the last time I practiced it was when my teacher in high school assigned it. And that was before dirt was invented.

Some of you might find Hooked by Michael Moss interesting. It talks about this and more about the food industry.

That's great advice! Thank you. Next next session is one pose for 2 hours but the session after that is like this and I'll use your advice there for sure!

Totally! Very little chatting. Just some music.

And thank you! I started out feeling like a fraud, then I was alright, towards the end I couldn't wait to come back.

Do you have any tips to help with my workflow or things that you learned that helped you? I've never tried to do art on a clock and at times I would forget how to use my tools...

Oh same for me, I have my save with everything and I'll go to that, see the new stuff, uninstall it 20 minutes later.

Damnit! Well I guess I'm installing this game again...

You mean it's gone this far without a name? That's so sad. Let's call it Jeff.

Thank you, trying to get there. And this is helpful and justifying.

Tomorrow I go to paint from a live model for the first time. I'm excited and nervous. But unlike most of my paintings I'll use a tablet connected to a PC instead of my phone.

I've been playing Dyson Sphere Program almost non stop for the last few weeks. this was inspired by that game. In the background is the Dyson Swarm constructed with solar sails shot into space by giant rail guns. Such a good game!

The basement was supposed to be a refuge, a place to hide until the chaos outside passed. But now the sound of wet, slithering limbs grows closer.

Nose (lemmy.world)

Just like the average amount of limbs on a human body is less than 4 and the average amount of skeletons in a human body is greater than 1, my drawings now average more than zero noses. Maybe even half a nose after this?

I used a reference photo my mom took. She's a great photographer and this photo of hers is one of my favorites. I added my own twist and tried to use a brush that gave it more texture. Any ideas on how to get more "paint like" texture from a brush set? I'm thinking like Bob Ross pallet knife on a mountain side effect.

I think the new transmission is exciting! I knew some of the drawbacks of the traditional CVT but the efficiency loss is new to me.

Used a photo I took of the Maroon Bells just outside of Aspen Colorado as the reference and a reference for the horse/knight and dragon.

Good practice but no way I could do this without the references.

John Green has a painting in his office I can't get enough of.

(That's Wheezy but he was interviewing John Green.)

I reverse image searched and it seems to be by Akihito Shimono. I tried to do my own, it's not nearly as eye candy as the original but it'll have to do for now.

A friend shared the below with me knowing I like the weird and unsettling. I had to draw one of my own right away!
