Yes this is amazing advice. Playing slow but consistently will eventually sound better. No breaks in the music or pauses to adjust fingers.

The best thing for the system to protect itself is to frame this as a health insurance issue and not a unregulated capitalism issue.

That way it doesn't have to address the rampant corruption that allowed this particular industry to get to this point. Nor will it be forced to address the myriad of other industries that are just as predatory.

Yeah. statistically a woman's sex drive begins to fall after a year. Sex researchers call it "the tragedy of the male sex drive."

I highly recommend The Science of Sex by Baumeister and Tice. It's full of surprising insights.

This comment should be highlighted.

As if the American electorate was ever really informed at large to begin with. I've been hopeful that we're seeing the start of a new age of enlightenment like the one that preceded the French revolution. But if the source of knowledge becomes detestable (enshitification of the internet) it may be slowed or stopped all together.

You can also argue that silicon valley has that particular business model of purposely making a product look great and cheap until enough people sign up.

It's distinct from how most companies run in the red at their inception in that those traditional businesses would gladly be in the black but are waiting for economies of scale or building a reputation among consumers.

The more corruption settles in, the less effective voting becomes. This is why the citizenry has civic duties beyond voting.

It doesn't matter what percentage of a budget is what. If a government is corrupt to the point of absurdity, the spending is largely ineffective.

The tax dollars were captured and the value of what theyre being used for is siphoned by middlemen (insurance in health care, middlemen inflating prices in the military) and as a result the prices in both examples are no longer attached to reality.
