I'm a newbie also and am trying to get a minimal config working. I have seen quite a few examples posted with Nvidia patches, so I'd assume that there is a chance your laptop would be supported.
Once I get something basic working I'll report back

Haha when I saw the cert issues it eroded any confidence I had; I wouldn't say I know a lot, but I think I can keep a certbot up (unless it was running on Manjaro)
I started using nixos this week and love it; it's like everything I love about containers made into an OS.
I have been using it in proxmox and passing the GPU through to a windows VM and it's performing well; I'll likely be trying to eliminate the windows part before too long and see if I can tell any difference.
Unfortunately my Jupyter server uses docker which doesn't play well with non-cuda GPUs, but I've been wanting to toss it so some ai/ml workloads.
I'm not familiar with any; I'm hoping there will be more movement to lemmy as dedicated apps are developed and improved
