"First, thank you for all the years of dedication to Reddit. You’re amazing." - My favorite Mod post of the AMA

Pretty sure it's already been scraped. Plus there is the way back machine. But I can't even count the amount of times I have run in to an issue at work or at home and googled "Problem Reddit" or "item review Reddit" . That info has been invaluable.

Leave Reddit. No more new content. But it's sad to see such a knowledge base just wiped. It's hurting the normal people. Reddit has their data. AI has scraped it, or will scrape the history sites of it.

I don't love the idea of everyone deleting their comments.

I know Reddit has gone shit. And we should not add more, but I don't want all the knowledge and tech support fixes it be gone forever. That's knowledge people can still use.

But thats the great thing about communities. Plenty of us like D&D. and do like seeing the posts.

Whats hilarios is that Elon just had to do 1 thing: Nothing. Thats it.

He just had to keep his egotistical mouth shut, and behind the scenes slowly make his changes quietly, maybe even help kill bots.

But he cant do that. His ego wont let him. He had to just go full bore in, literally carrying a kitchen sink in to twitter headquarters and go nuts. Plus hes a man child, changing the sign to say "Titter" i mean hey, as soon as he bought it everyone knew where it was goin.

Like, I understand Twitch has server operating costs and stuff, And they are owned by Amazon so its all a rounding figure anyway, But its CRAZY to me that these people refuse to pay or keep happy the people who are the SOLE source of content.

Twitch's ONLY content are the streamers on their site. Reddits ONLY content are people aggregating links and posting to their site... And yet these companies continue to just piss off their creators.

Im assuming its just because there is no viable alternative. You wanna stream? gotta do it there for views. Got the streamers over a barrel....

I live near Springfield MA, so not far from Hartford myself.

Your not wrong about prices going up. We are just lucky at the position we are in to make enough money to go out. but we kinda choose where we spend our money.

If we go out its usually to a small brewery or something like that. Where the money we do spend goes to a small, local buisness. We have a brewery not far from our house, and i was so scared they wouldnt make it through the pandemic. They opened in like 2018 or 2019 and were not super busy.

But they are doing better then ever and we make sure to visit often. They know our names, we know theirs, and i have no issue having a good time because i know who and what my money is going to. Ill spend $6 a beer and $10 for a Kielbasa dog there, rather then spend $12 for a meal at wendys anyday

Abso-Freking-Lutely is not going to answer random questions like an AMA. He will anser some planted questions and then will dissapear, and tell some news organization or make some tweet about how he had to leave early because of all the negativity and the bridaging and the people swearing at him, and how we would have loved to stay otherwise and answer real questions.

The thing about it is its not like people were against paying. these apps are willing to pay. I mean, read the Apollo Devs post if you havnt. He has audio recordings and transcripts

https://old.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/144f6xm/apollo_will_close_down_on_june_30th_reddits/

They are just pricing out third-party apps because they dont want them around. The problem is noone is going to sign up for Reddit Gold. They will just use old.reddit.com with a pop up blocker on the desktop. They wont make ad income from them either.

My girlfriend is in the same boat. 2 masters degrees. Been teaching for awhile. Now getting in to Admin. She's counting the years till it's forgiven. The sheer amount is insane for a profession that doesn't make alot of money to start
