Metal! No luck with VM so far

Ok, so found out my Toshiba Satellite C655d is incompatible with ArcaOS. But it’s running on a PC (non VM) with an Asus z95 mobo and a brand new $40 SSD. I have to run DOS progs full screen due to a known issue, but works well. And OS/2 native BBSs run great!

I did impulsively buy a Thinkpad T43 on eBay, the last model to ship with OS/2 for $49 as well. We’ll see if I can get that up and running!

I didn’t have much luck with vietualbox.

Thank you! I just got SIO2K virtual modem up and running… woo hoo! Dealing with some random lockups, think it might be my hardware… but progress!

Grab yourself a copy of SyncTerm for whatever platform/OS you use. It has a built-in list of BBS addresses, start clicking on them, sign up for a few, check out the Telnet BBS Guide on the internet as well. Have fun!

Nice one Paulie420… I was wondering when a Lemmy /bbs community would pop up. +1 to all the boards listed here. Old or new BBsers, great places to get lost in :)
