Not surprisingly, it didn't gain much traction - I never got the impression Beths. was happy with FNV's reception (good and bad).

Getting absolutely humiliated by Obisidian's spin off game being miles better than their mainline games couldn't possibly have been the reason, right? /s

It's a bit wild how petty Bethesda comes off as. It's like they'd rather spend a bunch of money to convince people their games are still good instead of, you know, trying to make good games.

Maybe compared to the stuff that came after it.

I wouldn't describe FNV as being miles better than FO3. If anything I see just as many that prefer one as the other. And I don't think they're upset with the comparative success Skyrim has had.

It we're judging them as RPGs then I think it is absolutely fair to say New Vegas is miles better. If we're judging writing and world building likewise.

I think an argument could be made for Fallout 3 having more interesting environments to aimlessly roam due to the signature Bethesda world design and clutter. But that's more or less it, in my opinion.

Whether that makes it a better game is up to individual preferences. I definitely have heard of people who prefer FO3, but I also know the modding scene of New Vegas is magnitudes stronger (though that doesn't necessarily have to mean it's the more popular game, granted).

I mean, you're entitled to your opinion ~~even if it's absolutely wrong~~.

I am one of the few who thinks FO3 is miles better than FNV

Watch hbomberguy's Fallout 3 video and see if you feel the same way afterwards.
