It’s obviously far from finished, but having played both echo and gorilla tag for a long time it plays like the combination of the worst of both.
Meta Quest VR
General interest discussion about Meta's (formerly Oculus') Quest VR platform
I just want a game with story and depth. I'm so fed up of wave shooters, zombie games and shooters.
They don’t have to be mutually exclusive, but I get what you mean. I’m excited for assassins creed, vampire masquerade and Asgard’s wrath 2 and hopefully behemoth is nice as well, but way to early for that.
I’ve been playing Echo for a long time since there was always something to do with VLML tournaments, but now that it’s on the way out I start to see that there really isn’t a lot of long form quality content, even though I basically bought half the store.
Yeah asgards wrath 2 looks OK, the graphics are a step back from the original. I've been into vr since the HTC vive was released, I owned the quest 1 and now 2. Its been 7 years and still the lack of software seems to be holding things back. Of course there's a place for shallower games but it's just been a Sea of them.
Real quality games that last around 8h are definitely rare. It does, however, feel like things are picking up and hopefully Quest 3 combined with the Vision Pro enthusiasm will bring in more people which leads to a bigger market where these games have a place.
Also, tbf quality titles take time and if you decided to start developing your game once you saw the success of Quest 2, it’s only been 2.5 years since, so maybe there are a bunch of these in development and they’re just not ready yet.
Yeah there does seem to be a bit more interest recently. I'm trying to be optimistic about it. I was very optimistic when the quest 2 launched but really the best game was re4 and I've played that through 3 times now, where's my gta San Andreas lol.
