Montreal is beautiful. Never been to Japan, though I hope to visit one day.
I think I've visited Montreal more than any other international place. It's amazing up there.
It reminds me a lot of the Northeast US, just extremely vast. it has better cities too.

Wife is from Japan so I'm fortunate to be able to make that trip. 100% worth it if you've ever desired to go. It's awesome.
I’m a big fan of Northwest Michigan. The UP is great but driving through the small towns in that long-forgotten corner of Michigan is almost magical. Otherwise I also love the Northeast, particularly Maine. I’d have to check out Vermont more, I have only driven through.
God I miss the Northeast. Maybe I’ll look at Vermont for my next long trip, that looks incredible.
