I think sub rehab fits the bill quite nicely.

How to do i sub without creating a new account on a different instance? Yes i can manually search on my instance but is there an easier way

not really right now. I've been replacing the URL

For the time being I’ve just been using the filter and only displaying .world communities for easy subbing, it does say it should be possible for other instances but I’ve been running into issues finding them with the method provided

There was one I found and it was so nice and now I can't find it in my history. It had a nice search and big banners

Edit: https://lemmyverse.net/communities

This is also the most user-friendly one I've found so far. Was super easy to find what I wanted and add them to my subs.

Lemmyverse is a search engine for Lemmy (though it doesn't find communities on Kbin (yet). It can help you find communities you're looking for, and also shows how big they are so you know where to go for most activity.

Sub.Rehab and RedditMigration.com are indexes of communities that have at least created a counterpart somewhere other than Reddit (though they don't track activity so some might be rather small still).
