So in the past few months I’ve consumed three body trilogy, the bobiverse, expanse series, dogs of war (meh), quantum earth x2 (meh) and project hail Mary. I really enjoyed most of these, with dark Forest being my favourite read lately. What should be in my reading list next, as I get close to the end of the expanse books?

I really liked the TV series of expanse. Have you seen it? How does it compare to the books?

Also, if you're into fantasy at all I recommend The Demon Cycle series by Peter V Brett. I'm listening to the graphic audio version and it's spectacular!

So, I started the show before the books and thought it was just okay. But the books have sucked me all the way in, and I just started rewatching the show from the beginning and it's sooo good after reading the books. In hindsight the knowledge you have from having read them really helps you follow the get into the show. And there's enough different they still keep you guessing a bit. It's really really good.

If you want to read more Cixin Liu I think Ball Lightning was pretty good as well, it's standalone but almost a prequel to Three Body Problem.

If you like the lighthearted and humorous sci-fi of bobiverse I highly recommend the Magic 2.0 series.

I did the first children of time book, but I never really loved it so didn't start book 2. I have it on hand maybe at some point I'd give it a try. Did you like book 2?

  • Old man's war, Scalzi
  • Expeditionary force, Alanson
  • Dungeon Crawler Carl, Dinniman
  • Space Team, Hutchison
  • The Martian, Weir

These are the usual recommendations I think.

How did you find the three body problem? I only listened to the first chapter I think, couldn't get into it.

Slow burn and got really into it. Then I read dark forest, the second book, and it's one of my favorites. Fantastic book.

I'm just starting on the Silo books, having watched season one of the series.
