Pretty sure that this knife makes up about 90% of all "first knife" gifts as kids. I started with one (and promptly stabbed myself with it) and still keep one handy in my backpacking kit. It might not be fancy but sure is useful.

The scissors on this are one of my most frequently-used tools. I even have a version with no blade so I can have one on my keychain when I’m flying
Grand idea.
Aaargh. The TSA confiscated one of my early ones! I was so vocal about being bummed that I was gifted a dozen for Christmas that year (bulk ebay) . I still have a couple of those, but they keep "disappearing", because someone will need something to cut or slice with and I tell them to keep it after they've used it. It always gets a smile.
