This doesn't surprise me much. I already knew that roads that are wide and straight and designed such that they "look fast" entice drivers to barrel down them at high speed, regardless of posted speed limits.
Meanwhile, I had to drive through Arlington a while ago and the lanes in that town are so fucking narrow I think my wing mirrors were hanging over the stripes on both sides. (Not in my truck. This was in my little Subaru.) You bet your ass I drove very carefully there.
