I use them to keep on top of worldnews and other stuff that's happening without giving reddit any traffic.
But it's okay to block them if you don't want to see it. Fortunately bots don't have feelings :P

I totally forgot you could block users, so thank you for this! I was split between whether to block them or not but the lack of comments/contributions I think is what sealed the deal for me. While it was nice to get a glimpse I didn't want to bury the actual user posts here anymore and it shared a ton of subreddits I didn't really care about. Time to install an RSS reader, I guess!
I get you on that. Exactly how I felt as well. ( ´ ▿ ` )
RSS readers are still very nice. Same information, but more fine tuned and limited to feeds you curate and select. Dunno what operating system you are on, but if you are on Linux and you use Gnome, I'd recommend NewsFlash. ∑d(°∀°d)
Dunno what options they got for Windows or MacOS since I don't use either. ( ̄ω ̄;)
I don't mind the bot posting occasional stuff. But this bot posts such an absurd amount that it's useless
You don't even have to browse new, it pops up all over. And there's never anyone posting anything underneath.
Hopefully it'll die naturally in a couple days.
I blocked them days ago. Even if there is a good conversation on one of those threads I'm going to miss out. It's too bad, but the spam was too much to deal with.
I suppose it's still useful if you want to keep up on content posted to reddit but are done with the platform...
