While I wait for Golden Sun 1 to pop up on Switch Online, Nintendo to gather analytics and metrics of the demographics playing it, and for Nintendo to calculate if a remake is viable and will sell, I'm in the need of scratching that itch for an adventure like Golden Sun.

Are there any games that are similar to Golden Sun? What do you recommend?

Currently I'm playing Tears of the Kingdom and Persona 5 Royal (my first entry into the Persona series). I haven't played Octopath Traveler, but I heard from others it is a similar type of series.

Have you played Sea of Stars? There's a free demo available on pretty much every platform, that gives a very good idea of what the full game is like. I'm currently a few hours in, and I can say pretty confidently that if you like GS you'll like SoS

Thanks for the recommendation! I checked it out on Steam and it looks really great. I've picked up a Steam Deck not too long ago since it's easier to pick up and go compared to my PC where I have to carve out time to play. I think this would be a perfect experience for Deck.

Oh must definitely. I've been playing it on Switch and it feels very good played handheld

Well I just found out today that the Steam Sumer Sale is live. They've got Octopath Traveler on a great sale, and I also saw Bravely Default II.

Sadly, no Bravely Default 1 or Bravely Second End Layer is on Steam. 😕

I heard these are some great starting points to get a classic type of RPG that is reminiscent of GS! I'll pick up the first Octopath game so I can give that a go, but maybe I can find my copy of Bravely Default on 3DS that I bought years ago... but never played!
