It's kind of terrifying that a person can find themselves so slighted that they become more and more delusional over time.

I also find it weird that his writings were sold off by the federal government. I understand wanting to use the proceeds to benefit the victims, but it's strange to imagine the motivation behind a private collector wanting to acquire those.

I can kind of get the collector angle: how much would the writings of Jack the Ripper be worth? Or Dahmer? etc... It's likely an appreciating asset even if a very strange asset.
