What are badges for in Kbin? (kbin.social)

Hi all! Been trying to find the answer to this as a mod a few magazines.

I’m familiar with the function of tags, but what are badges for/what do they do? I haven’t been able to glean this yet.

Badges are like post flairs on Reddit.

I've set up some badges on one of my magazines, but I haven't really tested them.

Same, I've set them up and have tried to add badges to post just in case, but not sure it's working since it's just plain text and there's no autofill or anything.
