It seems that a few communities I want to sub to just hang on pending? Is there any particular reason for this? Maybe related to the sudden influx of users?

My guess is the servers are being overloaded with new people, so we are getting some lag. Reloaded a page and it still marked as pending

There's just been a lot of server issues. 😁 It'll calm down eventually.

It happened to a me a few times and I just unsubscribed and then subscribed again, and it worked. YMMV

some instances block other instances and the subbing also won't work.
