I’m still mostly new to the area and curious how the locals feel about this voting season

Joy seems to have a lot of support for District 3 but I honestly don’t know anything about anyone to have a real horse in the race

Joy Hollingsworth certainly is pumping out fliers but not sure I’ve met anyone who supports her. (Though I’m in pretty liberal circles). I generally cross reference Seattle times, stranger, and progressive voters guide. Get an idea of what policies they support and discuss with a couple friends but not so many of them are interested in local politics.

I was thinking joy but the urbanist argument for hudson changed my mind in the primary

Honestly I just remember her winning by a landslide in the first round, but maybe I’m making that up

Thanks for the sources, that’s a huge help

Hollingsworth 36.9% to Hudson 36.5% so super tight coming out of the primary.

I just follow the stranger’s guide. Sometimes I research elsewhere, decide who I like and compare it with The Stranger and it’s usually exactly who they pick.

Thanks, I’ll have to check that out

I used to do this. Quick 3-5 minutes and the ballot was in the mail. I then had someone ask me who I voted for one year and I couldn't for the life of me remember. I had used a cheat sheet and had no idea. I was then ridiculed for essentially being a useful idiot.

Nowadays I actually set aside 30 minutes to read the for/against on propositions, the information submitted by candidates for positions, and like yourself research elsewhere if I feel the need to. Most of the time I'm still in line with the stranger, but not always. This way I actually remember who I voted for 🙃
