It’s a good problem to have. Not that many users is a worse problem to have.
It seems to be going pretty well tbh any centralized service would get the hug of death with such a huge increase, this distributed thing seems to be behaving much better
We are apparently doing better than reddit rn lmao. Reddit backend is down at the time of writing this.
things seem just fine for me ATM, discord feels way slower even if I'm just using their API, not that I'm expecting things to be perfectly fine; but I do think that once the influx is over things will normalize.
I'm actually surprised they're doing as well as they are. Even if last night things seemed to slow to a crawl for some instances I just decided to give it the night and try again this morning. I don't care if things get leggy or grind to a halt. It's understandable and I can just do something else in the meantime. I'm not looking to have my face plastered into my phone constantly like I did with reddit.
Won't anybody think of the admins?!?
Just use another instance. Lemmy.world is great, no need to write an essay to join like some lmao
People just need to join different instances, not the same big ones. It's confusing when you're new though, so I don't blame them at all.
I joined several just in case one goes down but world is a good one, from what I understand, because it's federated with everything. I think I understood that correctly...
Literally switched fedi instance because it wasn’t even letting me log in anymore. I’m doing my part!
On top of that reddit seems to be fcked up good atm
