The hit sci-fi movie from 1990 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger has already got a reboot film in 2012 that stars Colin Farrell in the leading role.

While the 2012 film was an unnecessary mess, it had neat aspects like the set design plus Bryan Cranston chewing the scenery up was pretty fun. I think it makes a good “background movie”, you don’t really have to pay attention to get the gist of it

You also didn't need to pay much attention to realize they must have had a script about "The Fall" and decided to paste the name Total Recall on it to get it made.

A second reboot, third movie? No. FFS, just no.

This was obviously a scheme hatched during the writer's strike.

You mean you don't want films made out of previously-rejected scripts because all the writers have been on strike? I guess audiences must hate sci-fi.

They should make a reboot with Arnold and Colin who discover that they've had their minds wiped from remembering that they've each made a Total Recall movie before. They discover an evil corporation which is hiding funds to pay actors to make original movies because they don't want to lose their monopoly on struggling actors agreeing to cheaply reboot existing IP franchises.

There was also the series Total Recall 2070, but that was more of a mashup of Total Recall and Blade Runner.
