Awesome news. They're doing some good things over in the world of Impact lately, I think I'm gonna start checking it out instead of Rampage from now on.

The line has been crossed

So, is this a new show in addition to Impact, or is Impact changing their name back? And does that mean anything beyond merely changing the name back?

Impact (the company) is rebranding itself back to TNA Wrestling as they were before, which with the timing of the PPV will likely be with their new upgraded production set up as well. That is all we really know for now.

Haven't gotten to watch the show yet but damn that's some news!

I mean... Why?

The best thing Impact ever did was get away from the TNA branding. The double entendre of it was incredibly dumb, and rooted in Vince Russo's fucked up sensibilities.

If they think this will help them grow, I strongly disagree.

That is all true, but the Perc Angle era has been getting a lot of nostalgic attention lately, and even the Hogan /Dixie era, which was pure trash but funny has been getting some pops.

The time is now I think.

It looks like it already is.

Look at the views their normal tweets get, then look at the views the tweet with this video got. There's a huge difference.

Whether or not it'll carry over into tv viewers or ppv buys, we'll have to wait and see, but it's at least had an impact on their social numbers.

It's true. The name change doesn't do much for me (I wasn't watching so I don't have nostalgia for that era) but it seems to be going over very well online. And D'amore's reasoning in their press release made a lot of sense (people still chant TNA at shows, overseas broadcasters still refer to them as TNA in meetings).
