I hate how often communities like that are brushed off and ignored as people’s communities. They often find themselves being collection zones for those rejected from, failed by, and unable to integrate into mainstream society and there is so much beauty and personality in them for that reason. But instead they’re treated as something awkward, shameful, and dirty. And maybe that’s to their benefit. Would the traumatized and neurodivergent be able to thrive as effectively in sexually alternative and focused spaces if the mainstream people were comfortable in them. Idk, but I’ve known some good folks who may be known the same as just some loner and not as someone who inspired people like me and made us smile
