A federated homage to the subreddit of the same name. The original idea is a marxist take on identity politics and the stupidity inherent in it, but we're fresh out of marxists to run this joint.

Until any marxists step forward to take over, this is a place to post well-tempered stories and commentary about the bonkers world of identity politics.

We got rules, so learn 'em:

leaders at the Oregon Department of Education and members of the state school board said requiring all students to pass one of several standardized tests or create an in-depth assignment their teacher judged as meeting state standards was a harmful hurdle for historically marginalized students, a misuse of state tests and did not translate to meaningful improvements in students’ post high school success

I've seen something similar in firefighting. In an effort to get more women into it, they lowered the standards far enough that the women that were applying could pass all of the requirements. In the end, they didn't lower the requirements enough, and just gave them a pass.

But all I can see is that when a real emergency situation comes up and they need to drag someones unconscious body out of a burning building, they may become victims themselves. We don't need to force equity down people's throats, but we do need equality for people to thrive.
