Did he mention anything about fingerprint reader? Is it still crappy?

I picked up the 8pro. The fingerprint reader is fine, maybe marginally improved over the 7pro. It's nowhere near the ultrasonic fingerprint readers. But, it now has Class 3 secure face unlock, which is good enough for banking and other apps, and combined with the fingerprint reader, it's pretty quick to unlock.

Not great. Not Samsung level for sure

It could be better, but it's not as horrible as the reviews told me it was. Moved from a Z Fold 4 to an 8 pro - I've never ultrasonic, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

The real star of the show is the Level 3 Face Unlock. It works perfectly as long as you're in a lit room

One of the best reviewers IMO.

Anyone with Pixel 7s or 8s - how does the CPU performance hold up with the Snapdragon 8 series? I always go for the top Snapdragon CPU and am interested if the experience is smooth. I've read somewhere there may be problems when gaming on Pixel8.

I have the P7P and have not had any major performance issues, but I also don't really play games on my phone aside from Legends of Runeterra which runs fine

The experience is smooth, the software is well optimized for the hardware, but if you're looking for the top specs and are a big mobile gamer, I don't think you'd be happy.

For me, I don't game at all on my phone, so it's perfect for me. I love the user experience, the helpful AI features, and the photos Pixel's take. I picked up the 8 Pro and it feels a lot more refined and uncompromising in almost all the ways.
