Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I'm sure many have that problem right now (e. g. feddit.de is on 0.17.4), and I understand the developer's choice not to support old server versions anymore, so when I choose to stay with Jerboa 0.0.34 for the time being, I'd at least like to see when my instance upgrades to 0.18. I can see it at the bottom of the Communities list in the desktop browser, but haven't found it in the app, yet.

You can't see the server version in Jerboa. Just on the webinterface, which works on mobile too.

Thanks. Then I don't have to search for it.

Immediately jumping to each new server version and not supporting the previous one is bewildering. Admins need time to vet "upgrades" and do the actual work. Lemmy isn't one central site. Things move at different speeds and app devs need to take that into consideration.

I'm not aware that you can see the server version from inside jerboa. What I've been doing is popping open an unauthenticated mobile browser, visiting my instance's home page, and scrolling to the footer where the version is shown. Not as convenient as in-app, but only takes a few seconds.

I'm related news, the v0.18.1-rc1 tag has been cut, which isn't a release but it's a key milestone along the way: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/tags it's all happening!
