I'm new and r/osr and r/Troika are two of the communities I'm missing the most. Is anybody here?

Dead for now, but I'm at least one other refuge from spezdit, needing an OSR community!

Good to know! I hope more people will join since I don’t play that often and I mostly lurked here. We could start sharing cool stuff we find online though. My itch.io is full of cool zines and supplements

Same deal as @Protegee9850.

Edit: I don't know how to tag users on lemmy apparently

There's only 15 subscribers here so far, but it's just the beginning. I've yet to read and play Troika, but it's in my to read list. From what I gathered the system has some similarities with the old Fighting Fantasy game books, correct? I mean the 2d6 + stat versus roll mechanic.

Yes, it's a Fighting Fantasy "clone". It's basically my first RPG (I only tried to run Pathfinder a couple of times in the past and didn't go that well) and I'm loving it.

I always wanted to play a TTRPG but not having friends who play already I necessarily had to be the GM, and Troika is perfect since it's really rules-lite and encourages improvisation from both the players and the GM, so I run mainly with an outline and random tables
