Yeah I’ve been following Zelarayan’s career pretty closely. I live in Canada so I’ve seen multiple games on TV and also when he was playing for Belgrano in Argentina. It would’ve been cool to see him in Europe. I think he would’ve done really well for himself in a country like Belgium.

And thanks for your support. Armenia is my go-to counter to cheer for. I have a great grandfather on my dads side that is Armenian. One of the largest Armenian diasporas in the world is in Argentina.

Imagine how we Boca fans feel…

How’s Zelarayan doing at least?

If you include a friendly against Ireland in March, they drew or lost by one goal in eight of their last ten matches, before a 5-0 away defeat to Croatia and a 0-2 home loss against Wales. They've played creditably against many of the stronger teams in their group, so this will feel like a big relief for them

Real shame that Armenia were down to 10 men for most of the game, but with how bad their defending was they’re honestly lucky it was only 2-0, but what can you do with a whole man disadvantage

Yes much like the Armenian team, it is a joke

Except for the last part. They’re honestly lucky they only conceded 1 goal while up a man.

how did armenia went from making us sweat through our buttcracks and nearly missing the 3 pts to losing against latvia with one man down????

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

To be fair, Latvia made you sweat too

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

My guess would be they decided to play Briasco at striker lmao.

We didn't yet play them away so don't want to jinx it, but against Croatia they really looked terrible

Here lies Armenia's hopes and dreams for Euro qualification

Man, it would be funny if now Latvia decide to ball and end up qualifying to Euros lol (like they just get enough points to go to the tournament). Playful jab aside, ngl Latvia´s defending on the last 10 when they started parking the bus oddly looked well and not as in how it avoided any goals from going in, but rather that instead of just waiting in the box or around there, they just took a few steps back before rushing in for pressure. I know it´s a simple thing but i liked their take on parking the bus tbh. Also i just checked and there were like 34 shots in the match lmao

Latvia can't qualify as they are 7 points behind 2nd place and they have 2 games left

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

wait what? I thought it was 9 games for all teams due to 5 teams on the zone.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

ohhhhh. Thanks for the explanation (man, Latvia now have the funniest chance of just playing god with the group lmfao, aka doing a Venezuela in 2018 WCQ and just proceed to eliminate someone like Venezuela did to Paraguay despite being last and Paraguay needing just a point to qualify yet Venezuela defeated them, due to having yet to play Turkey and Croatia and if they beat them both even if they wont qualify, they will 100% send everything to the final day lol)

They’ll go back to back wins since they are playing us next

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

lol, we are absolutely dogshit, the manager has no risk taking in squad selection, in positions where we do have at least some exciting players worth looking at, instead calling up players that dont have gametime in their clubs. Team often looks like they can't string 5 passes together, havent achieved any goals set, including winning D division in nations league, which should be an absolute minimum goal.

Today was a good change in the background of manager's seat being very hot, ultras leaving the stadium in the first half in protest, and some of the players being out, which actually propelled good changes in the lineup, players that most of us wanted to see. And Uldriķis wasn't shit for once.

I'm not comparing anything, I'm saying what I and everybody else sees on the pitch. We are so tactically disciplined we struggle to beat teams like Andorra, Liechtenstein, Faroe Islands, etc. Yes, we have to start from somewhere, and that would include calling up deserving players, having a manager that doesn't have any inside shit on FA, favor for a favor, somebody has shit on others, basically a foreign coach who cares and that provides a fresh look on football. With the best recent examples being hockey and basketball NT coaches.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I don't know which other national teams call up players to give them match fitness in NT rather than club. What is consistency worth when the results and the play is shit? Turkey is a team we do very well against historically, a number of draws and minimal losses even in recent years, in fact, should have gotten a draw this year too. In away game definitely not nearly as confident.
