Hello everyone :)

I'd like some advice about what and/or when to plant my stuff for this season. Im in the Mediterranean so keep in mind we have hot, humid weather, and quite a bit of sun even now in October, but for a couple months namely December and January it can drop to around 0°C and will rain fairly often.

That being said here is a list of things I would like to grow:

  • parsley
  • onions (bulbs in water container filled with soil with holes cut for it to sprout)
  • basil
  • cherry tomatoes (previous two tries failed. Third is the charm?)
  • lettuce
  • radishes
  • ant type of mild pepper as im just now getting started with eating hot (suggestions appreciated!)

Having in mind my general climate, what would be your recommendations for these? More or less when should I plant them? Lettuce I can get ready to harvest once its the time btw.

Thanks for your wisdom D 🥬🍃🌱

Basil, tomatoes and parsley are soft plants that are not going to tolerate temperatures below about 45 F (they will start wilting and yellowing). So you will want to get them started inside and then get them outside when it is reliably warm enough if you want to do anything during the winter. Young plants don't do well being overly blasted with heat and sun though (another reason to start them inside). Tomatoes grow best in moderate temperatures like 60-85 F (apologies for the units!).
