RIP Scorchy. Something broke inside and now it won’t spark. I’m going to attempt to repair it but I suspect I’ll be replacing it.

Anyone have a recommendation for a nice twin-jet torch? I use it mostly with a Dynavap and would like something big enough to not refill every day but not too too big. Bonus points for a low-effort reliable trigger, a warranty would be nice too.

Edit: fixed it, still interested in recommendations :)

After having like 20 or so torches specifically bought from head shops and vape stores all die in less than a year, I said "fuck it" and bought a kitchen torch from a commercial kitchen supply store in the area. I've had it for 6 years now with no issues. Plus I can actually make the cool caramel crust on a creme brulee now when I'm not using it for dabs.

You could also go with an acetylene torch from a hardware store. Those are sturdy, and the propane tanks last fuckin' forever if you're just using it for smoking. Though, they aren't easily portable.

Hey! What does the trigger do instead of spark? I ask because on a somewhat similar torch I had the trigger would depress with resistance but not sparked. I fixed it by greasing the moving part inside the plastic piezoelectric igniter.

The trigger would just smoosh with no click, I guess as you described. I was actually able to fix it shortly after I posted, the sliding piece on the igniter was jammed. I didn't think to lubricate it but I got it unstuck and the lighter is now working better than it did brand new 😎
