This is a shot from probably my favorite place in the Southwest. White Pocket is the neglected little brother of the super famous "Wave" formation that's maybe 10 miles NW. W.P. is a small tract of strange desert, filled with alien looking formations, some of the strangest landscapes I've found in my years of traveling. IMO, much better than the Wave for a few reasons; you don't need to go through the stupid lottery system and wait years to try and get a permit, I've been a few times and always had the place to myself, and there is such a dramatic and diverse display of nature in a very condensed area. If you're ever in vicinity, I can't recommend spending a day or two there enough. Its a little more difficult to get to, I would suggest high clearance or at least 4x4, as wind had blown big dunes across the dirt track that definitely would have been tricky without my trusty Tacoma. Happy travels!
