Installed it right after I saw your post and using now. I can't believe how good this is this early in development. Hats off to all the coders and software developers out there! You all are amazing!

The only issue I have with it is that I can't view profiles, but other then that is better than jerboa by far

Doesn't look like you can edit comments or create posts with images either unless I'm missing something. Edit: also sorting comments and viewing my own comments from my profile

Hey! Yeah, there’s definitely still some core features that are missing like you said and I am trying to get those out whenever I have the time! I’m only able to really work on Thunder during my spare time, so please bear with me 😅

Thunder is still mostly just a single person team (me) at the moment - albeit there’s been some new contributors to the project so I’m really grateful for that 😄

Oh no doubt man! I wasn't criticizing it at all! I think it looks great and you're doing a fantastic job. I along with the rest of the community are certainly extremely grateful for you and all the devs out there. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

[–] darklightxi 2 points 1 year ago

Definitely! I just wanted to reply back to let you know the general status of the project :D

And an obligatory if any devs see this and would like to contribute, feel free to do so

I don't really edit comments often. But Its weird how you can't post photos

[–] ki77erb 3 points 1 year ago

Well it's still early in development. It looks great so far though!

Only thing holding me back from it being my daily driver is the lack of easy blocking. I'm still at the point of using all/new for discovery as things expand on lemmy, and it's pretty common to need to block something that I definitely don't want to see again (I had to cock block a c/cocks lol)

But it is a damn nice app overall.

I’d personally be more inclined to use Thunder if every word didn’t have excessive letter-spacing

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The spacing looks normal to me, it's the same as jerboa.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Its coming along quick. It is also one of, if not the best, screen reader accessible clients

[–] _pete_ 2 points 1 year ago

Same here, it’s beautiful and has a level of polish I feel the others are missing right now!

I couldn't find it on the Play Store.

[–] NormDeplume 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yup. Was going to install it but it's not there, so I'll wait. It definitely sounds promising though.

You do not have to wait for the app to be released on the Play Store; you can get it from GitHub.

You can also get it off of the IzzyOnDroid repo for F-Droid clients, but it's marginally slower at getting updates than the GitHub.
