Milan (off-panel): It's chow time, buddy.

(Milan is wide-eyed and startled. A fog is appearing behind her with a dark shape in the middle)

(Milan turns around quickly to face the fog, holding the book tightly to her chest. Her face is panicked)
Milan (off-panel): Wait, no!

Milan (towards the shape in the fog): Don't feed me to the book worms!

Librarian (still with pink bubblegum around her mouth): Who the heck are you?

Milan (with a worried look on her face): Me? Who the heck are YOU?!

Milan: Where's Malphas?
Librarian: I was his assistant. He just retired, like, last month.

Librarian (holding up her thumb and pointing it towards herself): I'm in charge now, what do you want?

(Milan holds up the book and guestures towards it)
Milan: I need this book to save my girlfriend.

(Milan is facing towards the librarian, who stands with her hand on her chin in a thinking pose)
Milan: May I have it, please?

Librarian: I'll consider it, but only if you-

(Close up on the librarian's eyes, narrowed)
Librarian: ...help me summon an entity.

Milan (resigned): [SIGH] I don't have much of a choice, do I?

Milan (suddenly suspicious): Wait, is it dangerous?
Librarian (off-panel): Nah.

[TEN MINUTES LATER]
(A gigantic shadowy creature floats in the air, pulling everything in the room towards it by an invisible force. Milan is holding onto something just out of frame, and the librarian is holding onto her hand as they are being sucked towards it. Milan has a determined look on her face, and the librarian is screaming. The echo mouse is holding onto Milan's hair by its front paws)
Milan: Do not let go!!!

(Outside shot of the large doors to the Forbidden Stacks. One door is being pushed open by a hand coming from inside)
Panel 3
(The door opens the rest of the way and we can see the librarian was pushing it open. She walks out with an annoyed look on her face. Milan walks out next to her, holding the book. The echo mouse is flopped on her head)
Librarian: Well, that was fun.
Milan: [UGH]

Milan (sarcastic): Yeah, who knew someone called "The Dark Lord" would turn out to be evil?

Librarian (irked): I get it, okay? Eesh.

(Milan's eyes open wide, as if she just remembered something)

(Milan holds up the book with a questioning look as the librarian looks over towards her)
Milan: So, can I have this book?

Librarian (waving it off): Oh, sure, take it, honestly no one cares.
