Safest seats on the grid: Max & Lance.

And one of those is not like the other.

no way Mercedes fires Lewis. I think Lance could be kicked out if a better driver is available

I think it comes down to Papa Stroll. Alonso is showing that AM can be competitive so Papa Stroll has to ask himself what his he paying for. Is he paying for his sons hobby or does he want to fight in the constructors. Because it's clear it can't be both, Lance simply isn't good enough to fight in the constructors. Without Lance they'd probably be fighting with Ferrari for third, but instead they're at risk of McLaren beating them.

It's not hard to find a better driver than Lance, it's simply a question of whether his father will keep financing his hobby or decide it's time for an actual team.

I thought Sainz just signed past the end of next year.

I thought so too, and was surprised to see this:

Carlos Sainz has reportedly signed a pre-contract with Audi which is set to join the F1 grid in 2026.

The Spanish driver is currently in a contract with Ferrari until the end of 2024. However, it has also been reported that he has signed a 2+3 year contract extension with the Maranello-based squad, which would mean he would have another two years with the option of a third if it is true.

But isn't Audi just taking over for Alfa Romeo? At least that's my understanding.

I will be amazed if Sargeant stays with Williams. It wouldn't surprise me if they ask to borrow Lawson for a year or two.

Williams will be 3rd red bull team then, haha
