It's just a bug with the way the software was coded, but there's a currently rolling out update that fixes it. Hopefully our glorious lemm.ee admin will be able to upgrade us to a new version soon. Hang tight :)

It's a feature they didn't think through not a bug
Looks like @[email protected] (who admins this instance) is holding off on updating the server to 0.18 because of bugs and is likely waiting until at least a 0.18.1 update to upgrade lemm.ee (see this post)
Ah okay, thanks
Oh thank whateverdeity. This is driving me crazy. It's nearly constant for me. It's almost unusable unless I go subscribed subs only.
I think you're thinking of the fix that prevents couple days old posts from showing up in active? That fix is already implemented in this server, and might be what's causing very new posts to show up instead
That's great news! I was worried this was "working as intended, won't fix".
if you notice the dates its not actually new content, its just all the content of a given community regardless of age
Do you know more about the detail of what prompts it?
Would it be wrong to guess it's whenever a lemm.ee user subscribes to another instance's community?
ive got no idea, i just noticed its all from the same community regardless of age whenever it happens
