In order to try and build this community a bit, I thought I'd post some general questions to encourage discussion - so, first up, what's your favourite single episode of MST3K and why?

I think I’d have to go with Riding With Death. So many great 70s jokes, and I have some great memories of my dad and I watching it together. It’s practically the perfect MST3K episode, just straight comfort food for me.

I don't think I've ever watched Riding with Death, really must try and start filling the gaps. I have a bad habit of just rewatching the same favourites over and over again.

Riding With Death is worth it because of how they turn Ben Murphy into the ultimate mellow 70s dude in their riffs. It's so funny.

My favourite is probably Time Chasers, partly because it's a great episode in its own right, but also because it was the very first episode I saw, and I don't think many things have ever made me laugh as hard as I did that day.

For Castleton!

That is a great one! I find myself quoting that one alot "I've got a llama if you wanna pet a llama...got a dead alien in the...oh never mind"

"This can't be our hero, can it? Movie, can I see your supervisor?!"

I’ve gotta go with Werewolf, though I’m partial to Joe Don Baker riffs too.

Werewolf is a stupid movie, with bad effects, lighting and audio. So many good lines, strange characters, Joe Estevez!

Call me basic, but Space Mutiny is front to back classic riffs

Final Sacrifice & Space Mutiny are at the top of my list, but I've rewatched them so many times I can just about recite them line for line from memory. Same with Mitchell & Sidehackers.

I've started more carefully watching episodes that I may have originally written off as boring or too awful to bear & I keep discovering new hilarious riffs that I missed on the first or second watch. So I'm discovering new favorites as I go. e.g. I watched Lost Continent earlier today & was in tears.

I also highly recommend taking an edible (if you're into that sort of thing) and really paying attention to Cave Dwellers. That movie by itself is just batshit bonkers even without the riffs.

Resurrecting this thread to add my take- My favorite episode overall would be The Day the Earth Froze, but Here Comes the Circus is a big part of that. If I were to take the movies alone, my favorite would be Overdrawn at the Memory Bank.

If we restrict it just to Season 13 (for funsies), it would definitely be Beyond Atlantis.
