A new 2D (really, 2.5D) Sonic game, developed by Sonic team, is coming in late 2023 to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows. It will feature Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy as playable characters. Villains will include Eggman, Fang the Sniper, and a new villain created by Sonic co-creator Naoto Oshima.

Trying not to overhype myself for this but the recent confirmation that the physics are ported directly from Christian Whitehead's engine has me gassed, seems like the best of both worlds
