I went down a huge rabbit hole on how the meal heating units or whatever they are called, came about out of world war II.

Essentially, the british in Libya would 'brew up' their tea using old gas containers, got stick of it, and invented a in tank system.

Also, that doing so meant Brits got out of their fucking tanks to brew tea, which was what made the issue vital enough that British tank designers had to address it.

Any danger is worth it for a little taste of home...
