  • Prep: Hot Shower - Preshave
  • Brush: Zenith /r/Wetshaving MOAR Boar 🐗
  • Razor: Rex Envoy
  • Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux (8)
  • Lather: Catie's Bubbles - Waterlyptus Soap
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter Soap Co. - Northern Elixer Splash
  • Post Shave: Zingari Man - AS Balm Unscented

If you were walking by the bathroom this morning, you would have thought that the toast buttering sound was coming from my MM24, but you would have been wrong. The Envoy is by far the loudest DE I own. Fortunately, the shave is super smooth.

Saturday has arrived and I have no clue what I'm doing today. I'll start with coffee and work from there. Have a great day all!

Jun 24, 2023 - Presto

  • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Green & Ivory 24mm Synthetic 2-Band Knot
  • Razor: Mühle Rocca R94
  • Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Stainless (Green) [18]
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Presto - Soap
  • Post Shave: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Sea Spice Lime - Toner

No complaints from today's shave. Presto is an interesting mix. The scent notes are "Bergamot, Cedar, Musk, Rose, Lime, Sandalwood, Lavender, Patchouli, Amber, Ginger, Galbanum, Violet Leaf, Leather, and Jasmine, and is reminiscent of a soft leather jacket with just a touch of gasoline."

The bright citrus, ginger, and various florals stood out to me, and the warm, woody, leather was perceptible only in the background. This scent definitely leans towards warmer weather.

Rating: 4/5

Leaving to get on the boat in a few hours. This tub of Barnegat Bay is my trusty travel shave companion, along with the quick-to-dry synthetic knot.

  • Brush: Stirling 24mm Synthetic
  • Blade: Dorco SD507 disposable (1)
  • Lather: Chiseled Face - Woody Lavender - Soap
  • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Samhain - Aftershave

Been a while since I used one of these Dorco disposables. I'm still amazed at how incredibly mild they are, yet the shave is still very good.

  • Brush: Oumo Warhammer Iceberg 27mm Meri-2
  • Razor: Wolfman Razors WR4/WRH2
  • Blade: Feather Artist Club ProGuard (3)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Island Man - Soap
  • Post Shave: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner
  • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - Island Man - Aftershave

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

The Warhammer is a badger brush that has taken me a long time to learn. When I first started using it, It hogged lather more than the MOAR BOAR and just would not give it up. Over time its appetite has subsided and we've become friends. It helped me build a beautiful, slick lather of Island Man (a Creed Virgin Island Water dupe) for today's shave.

The star today is the Wolfman Razors WR4 prototype head lent to me by u/VisceralWatch. Even though his "Thrill is Gone", his abilities as an enabler have not.

I have a Blackland Vector. I mentioned that while I absolutely applaud the effort taken in the Vector's design I don't personally favor the fragility of the squared-off, threaded post on the top plate, and head size is so small, there's nowhere for lather to accumulate which forces me to rinse more often then I prefer. I wanted to see if I would like the WR4, or if I should just get a Tedalus Essence to use with artist club blades.

The short answer is that after just one shave, the WR4 is a complete hit for me. It felt comfortable immediately, has great feedback for what's happening with the blade, has no fussiness with assembly or disassembly, and provides lather management that suits me perfectly. My shave today was very comfortable and fully BBS with two effortless passes. I'm going to use it tomorrow also, but I'm sold on this design already.

June 24, 2023

  • Brush: Zenith 31mm MOAR BOAR
  • Razor: EldrormR Industries MM24
  • Blade: GEM PTFE (6)
  • Lather: House of Mammoth – Dammusi
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth – Dammusi

Anybody else try Dammusi yet? Curious what people think. I absolutely love the scent on the splash, but the soap doesn’t really smell the same, it’s like the scent is blended different. I still like it, but slightly sad.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I think the actual pairing I’ll go with for this scent, in the future, is Sea Spice Lime as the soap with Dammusi splash. This is the first HoM to make me want to buy a frag.

  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Varen Soap
  • Brush: Zenith - MOAR BOAR
  • Razor: Gillette - Slim Adjustable (9)
  • Blade: Feather (3)
  • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - Varen Splash & Unscented Balm

The Slim on 9 did a damn nice job after skipping a day of shaving. While I can still tell that DEs aren’t working as well as SEs for me, it’s still interesting to try my other razors again.

2023.06.24 SOTN:

  • Prep: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser

  • Brush: AKA Brushworks Amethyst Watchman with 26mm AP Shave Co G5C

  • Razor: Henson AL13(+++)

  • Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (1)

  • Lather: House of Mammoth Dammusi

  • Post Shave: Stirling Mentholated Unscented Witch Hazel and Aloe, Stirling Glacial Satsuma Aftershave Splash, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry

Waited until today to shave for my order of Dammusi to arrive. Really like the scent, and I'll be wearing the EdP next week. Overall a really nice shave, but I need to get back to being cognizant of my crappy hair pattern on my neck to get a smoother shave.
