♦ Rules ♦

1. Stay Civil

This is a place for friendly discussion, memes, guides, art, gameplay questions, screenshots and the like. Discrimination and harrassment won't be tolerated.

2. Mark Spoilers

It is okay to post about "related games" (such as Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild) but please use the spoiler "censor" and do not put spoilers directly into the title, as the censor doesn't work this way. Posts about other Zelda games might be suited better in general Zelda communities, like the ones listed at the bottom of the sidebar.

3. Offtopic Posts

Anything not related to BotW, like politics, religion, non-Zelda games etc. is better suited elsewhere and will be removed. The same goes for NSFW material.

4. No Advertisements

It is okay to post about merchandise, but links to those "design your own merch" sites will be removed, as those are almost always scams featuring stolen art. Affliate links will be removed as well. This isn't Etsy.

5. Provide Sources

If you're going to post art, comics, guides, screenshots etc. that are not your own OC, please mention the name of the original creator and ideally also a link to their portfolio/website. (Pinterest is almost never the original source)

6. Suggestions are Welcome!

Feedback, requests for improvements and constructive criticism are always appreciated ;)

I wish I had more use for horses. Maybe towards the end of my run I’ll just turn my house into a horse farm.

It's a bummer they didn't include the Ancient Saddle in TotK ... being able to summon your horse everywhere on the map (or maybe even just everywhere on the surface) would have made them a hundred times more useful. With the extreme amount of vertical exploration you end up having to leave your horse behind every ten minutes or so, which is simply not fun if you then have to either backtrack or abandon whatever you were doing to find a stable.

I was honesty shocked there was no horse armor when they improved other stuff like the travel medallion. I had assumed it would be back in DLC later, but it looks like DLC may not come.

I had a similar issue with building devices in the depths, there’s so many stations to build things, but they get you like 2 feet before you need to ditch them.

With all of the new horse possibilities/combos, we needed something like 15 stable slots. At least.

Hear, hear. When I realized that you can get extra slots, I was super happy: finally I'll have a bit of wiggle room after catching every unique horse, an Epona lookalike, a "real" Epona, my favorite color combos, the new unique/special horses andnnnnnd... the stable is at max capacity again, yay. ^^°

Is "digital animal hoarder" a thing?

I feel both validated and called out by that statement, lol.

(I might or might not have always hit the box storage limit in every gen I've played so far ... ahem!)

Both games definitely need a magic whistle or something. As long as your horse is alive, it'll show up.

In BotW, they had the Ancient Saddle which basically worked just like that - whistle, and your horse teleports to you from wherever you left it, even if it was the opposite side of the map. The downside: it was DLC content, ugly, and didn't work everywhere (the Taobab Grasslands for example were randomly off limits despite not being dangerous for horses).

That item was not even included in TotK and since they said they don't plan to make DLC for the sequel, I don't think we get something like it. Unless they decide to add it in a patch or update or whatever. TotK definitely needs something like that to make horses more useful.
