This shoe dropped in 2016. I missed out and searched for years. Gave up and randomly stumbled across this pair in my size when helping an r/vans user find a different pair they were searching for. Lady said her husband bought them, wore them once, didn't like the fit, and they sat in a closet until she listed them on depop for $40!
He probably didn't like the fit because these have a special luxliner inner glove. They fit snug, but in a sort of comfy slipper feel imo. They also have Ultracush HD insoles, which are incredible. It's also a vegan model, made of rubber and synthetic textiles. The shoe was really a highly experimental design, and a precursor to both the AVE line and the Rapidweld line. The Rapidweld line continued with design changes and AVE's signature line continued doing its own thing.
Also I'm an Anthony Van Engelen (AVE) fan. who gets skater of the year at 40?? Dude's a badass. Classic counterculture skater. Plus he founded FA/Hockey which have the best board shape imo.
