- Look for "scanner activity" on the system map for random encounters. Some of them are enemy spacer groups.
- Go to mission boards and look for Tracker missions.
- Just... hang out in space around a planet without security. The spacers will constantly randomly spawn in and attack you in waves if you're just hanging around in space, but more likely away from planets like where New Atlantis is.

Thanks for the tips! I completely forgot about the mission boards. That sounds like the best way to specifically take on some space combat missions. I’ll keep an eye out for those scanner activity points too though.
I had a few random ones where a ship was being attacked and i saved them, and another where some random person in one of the generated outposts asked me to go find some pirates in space that kept looting them and kill them
