I'm unsure if the "5" indicates this is the fifth one in the KFC series. In which case, what are the first four? Why isn't the Colonel himself number 1?

I think it's actually that it's number 5 in the pops icon series. Also most the time there's multiple versions of the same main figure, so it's possible there 5 variants, but I'm pretty sure it's just #5 in the pop icon line.

I'm not super familiar with this site, or funkos in general to be honest, but from looking around there are several lists on that site with gaps. I wonder if at times they leave openings just in case they want to make another variant later on it the same IP and just keep their numbers close. It does seem though with like Dungeons and Dragons they don't necessarily keep them all together.
Again not super versed in Funkos, I enjoy them, but only of very specific things, by no means a collector. But my guess is either the site just isn't that well updated, or it's a spot that's being left open
