Just my opinion, but having the Hero items be unbreakable allows for so much more experimentation and fun in TotK.

It's the only mod I've got installed, and now instead of "Oh a unique trident that I can never use... wow..." I can play around with fuses and different fighting techniques without worry.

This mod also applies to the Master Shield and Master Sword, so I can surf around at my hearts content and swing away without having to purposefully break my sword after every fight so it'll recharge.

I think TotK vastly improved the gameplay experience over BotW by making fuses increase durability. But the Hero items should have been made unbreakable.

I understand why Nintendo chose to have the breakable weapons. I mean, they really want you to not be siloed into a specific weapon and experiment. Heck, that's probably why they expanded upon it in TotK, so that now you can even fuse weapons. At the same time, I find myself hoarding weapons as a precious resource and that's the downside. You don't even want to use your best weapons because you know that they will eventually break.

I 100% agree with you.

Now the infinite durability for Hero weapons mod also has flaws, in that you can basically ignore every other weapon and tool if you fuse them right.

But honestly, there's enough other stuff going on that ditching the weapon juggling doesn't take away from the fun, as long as you don't overspec the hero weapons with powerful fuses.

I feel like it's a genuine gameplay improvement, and I would have liked so see Nintendo balance the system natively in a way that makes the Hero weapons really special.
