@vegan I was just amazed that by making this post on Mastodon, it showed up in the Lemmy community too! Hi vegan friends ๐! I was Nume Macaroon on Reddit.

An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.
Rules and miscellaneous:
- We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)
- No omni/carnist apologists. This is not a place where to ask to be hand-holded into veganims. Omnis coddling/backpatting is not tolerated, nor are /r/DebateAVegan-like threads
- Use content warnings and NSFW tags for triggering content
- Circlejerking belongs to /c/vegancirclejerk
- All posts should abide by Lemmy's Code of Conduct

Yes! This is the coolness. And in theory Masto comments should show up on Lemmy threads (haven't tried yet)
Mastodon however kinda doesn't know how to handle Lemmy community traffic (yet). For one, it treats all posts and comments as boosts from the community "user". And they come as a big wall of posts, there's little to no threading done.
But for a start at demolishing the walled gardens, its pretty good. :)
@zeitverschreib @nm @vegan yeah but that's a comment not a post, right ?
So you mean starting a new thread within an existing community?
Same principle, AFAIK.
Does the opposite work? Can you use your Lemmy account to follow Mastodon hashtags for instance?
