The sample size for responses was just under 1,200 people. I hardly think that it is a good representation of the population. Half of the responses were from SMS, and the other half from robocalls. I would wager that the people who would respond to those would also be older, and adverse to technology.

I’m all for the assimilation of services and card into the my number card. I do think the major flaw is that the number is physically printed on the card. It should have been made accessible only digitally after entering a PIN. This is why people, including myself, hesitate to carry it in their wallet (and why it comes in a stupid plastic sleeve).

I hope by the deadline 100% of medical institutions have the hardware to read the cards. Also, I wish more medical institutions would accept cashless payments. I guess this depends where you live, but unless it is a big hospital, medical institutions in my area only accept cash.

If properly randomly selected from the population, 1200 is plenty representative. That is a big if, of course, but the math actually does check out.
