I think this article is complete bullshit to be honest, and here's why:
Other people can help you out, but ultimately the best mental tricks are going to be of your own creation. There are so many ways of thinking that should work in theory, but just don't intuitively resonate with everyone, and it's a trial and error thing to find out what resonates with you.
All of these so-called "myths" worked in the minds of those people, and work for some others. I find that I resonate with the idea of "maximizing" your time, i.e. high density productivity and leisure. Low-density productivity or leisure can really wear out out incredibly quickly, and is the source of a lot of anxiety for a lot of people. But that's just me, and that way of thinking won't work for a lot of people.
Similarly, uncompromising regimens work for some people. Visualization works for some people. Dreaming big works for some people.
Whoever would think to write this article must be extremely arrogant and self-obsessed to write long-standing principles off as a myth just because it didn't work for them. It's clickbait garbage. Ignore it and figure out what works for you.
